Regent's Scholars

The Regents' Scholars in the Dwight Look College of Engineering are required to participate in the PEERS Success Program. The Success Programs are designed to help first generation students in achieving their educational goals at Texas A&M University. The coordinator for the Engineering Success Program is Ms. Jacqueline Hodge (jqhodge@tamu.edu). The Success Program in the College of Engineering consists of the following:

  1. Housing in the ELLC if space permits. Members of the Corps of Cadets are exempt from this requirement.

  2. Monthly seminars that are a part of the ELLC. A sign-in sheet will be available for students to sign to receive credit for attending. The seminars are scheduled on Wednesdays from 5-6 pm and will be added and coded to Regents’ fall and spring schedules as LCSE 001-022. The schedule for the seminars is located at http://essap.tamu.edu/ellc/seminars.htm. Students will be allowed to make-up missed seminars as a result of class conflicts and other approved reasons. Below is a list of approved workshops for Fall 2009.

  3. Enrollment and completion of the STLC 101 course for the fall semester and STLC 102 for the spring semester. Students should enroll in the STLC 101 course during the New Student Conference (NSC).

  4. Meet with your academic advisor or an ESSAP advisor during the ELLC Academic Advising period in 142B Commons for the Fall and Spring semesters. Advising is offered during pre-registration for freshmen. A complete schedule will be provided to each student via email and at http://essap.tamu.edu/ellc/announce.htm

The complete details of the program requirements are provided in the student agreement below.
